In a partial summary judgment in November, a federal judge in Manhattan awarded nearly $10.9 million in back pay to a group of dancers suing Rick’s Cabaret, ruling that the $18 Dance Dollar payments didn’t offset the club’s responsibility to pay the dancers a minimum wage, now $8 an hour in New York. The ruling follows one by the same judge last year that the dancers should have been treated as employees and paid an hourly wage…”
